About The Position

Public Storage is hiring a Self Storage Manager to serve customers at multiple locations. Managers work independently, both indoors and outdoors, and assess customers’ storage needs, recommend storage options, and sell packing and moving supplies. They inspect storage units to confirm inventory and availability, audit cash drawers, make bank deposits, and help customers stay current on payments through reminder and collection calls when needed. The role also involves cleaning and daily maintenance, including sweeping and mopping indoor areas and keeping exterior grounds clean and free of debris.

The schedule is flexible and full-time, with work hours between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and weekend hours until 5 p.m. Employees working an average of 20 or more hours are eligible for full-time benefits. Pay is $17.50 per hour, with weekly pay and the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses. Mileage reimbursement is available for travel between properties and other work-related tasks.

Requirements

• Experience in a customer-service-centered sales environment, such as retail, restaurant, fast food, or another service-based company.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Use of a personal vehicle to travel between work locations and/or conduct other work-related business.
• Ability to transport, lift, or move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to walk around facilities, including spending up to 50% of the time outdoors, climbing stairs, and opening large doors.

Responsibilities

• Assess customers’ storage needs and recommend suitable options.
• Sell packing and moving supplies.
• Inspect storage units daily to confirm inventory and availability and ensure units are ready to rent.
• Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits.
• Help customers stay current on payments and make reminder and collection calls when required.
• Clean and maintain facilities, including sweeping and mopping interior areas and keeping exterior grounds and curb appeal clean and free of debris.
• Travel between work locations and conduct other work-related business using a personal vehicle.
