Customer Service - Self Storage Manager
About The Position
Public Storage is hiring Property Managers to work independently across multiple self-storage locations in Central and South Austin. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors and assessing customers’ storage needs, recommending storage options, and selling packing and moving supplies. Property Managers inspect storage units to confirm inventory and availability, handle cash drawer audits and bank deposits, and help customers stay current on payments through reminders and collection calls. The position also includes cleaning and daily maintenance tasks to maintain clean interior spaces and exterior grounds. Employees use their own vehicle to travel between work locations and for other work-related business; mileage reimbursement is available. The role requires the ability to move items weighing up to 35 pounds and to walk around facilities, including climbing stairs and opening large doors. Employees may spend up to 50% of their time outdoors.
Requirements
- Customer-service-centered sales experience; successful candidates may come from retail, restaurant, fast food, or other service-based companies.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Use of a personal vehicle to travel between work locations and/or conduct other work-related business.
- Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to walk around facilities, climb stairs, and open large doors.
Responsibilities
- Assess customers’ storage needs and make recommendations.
- Sell packing and moving supplies.
- Inspect storage units daily to confirm inventory and availability and ensure spaces are ready to rent.
- Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits.
- Help customers stay current with payments by making reminder and collection calls when required.
- Perform cleaning and daily maintenance, including sweeping and mopping interior areas and keeping exterior grounds clean and free of debris.
