SED PSA-1
About The Position
Responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of assigned patients through continuous observation and monitoring. The role collaborates closely with the Registered Nurse and patient care team to provide a safe environment. It communicates changes in a patient’s condition, behavior, or safety concerns promptly and effectively to support high-quality patient care and safety, and performs additional delegated tasks within the defined scope of practice. The position is based in the Emergency Department South at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri. It is scheduled for 36 hours per week, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, on the night shift.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Have the ability to problem solve.
- Have flexibility and the ability to remain alert to safety issues.
- Complete all required education for the position.
- Complete the Phase 1 Course within 30 days of hire.
- Complete the Phase 2 Course and pass the assessment within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous patient sitter experience.
