About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for loss prevention patrol at a retail and mall location in Tampa, Florida. The officer will safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing customer service and clear communication. The role is scheduled for daytime shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The stated pay rate is $17.51 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, walkways, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, and policy violations; complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
Assist with access control, traffic and parking concerns, and customer inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
