About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to support a busy retail location in Canton, Michigan. The officer will help safeguard clients, customers, visitors, and team members through routine patrols, a visible security presence, customer assistance, and clear communication when reporting concerns. The role requires a customer-focused mindset, integrity, and teamwork. The schedule is Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The pay rate is $16.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local laws.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, if required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned areas of the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter locations.
Observe and report suspicious activity, potential hazards, policy violations, and other security concerns to appropriate site personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and critical situations, follow site-specific procedures, and document activities as required.
Assist with access control and visitor interactions, and monitor designated areas to help deter theft, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior.
