About The Position

As a full-time Unarmed Security Officer at a university location in Chicago, Illinois, you will help safeguard the campus and support students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other community members. The driving post involves routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintaining a visible presence, responding to incidents, and providing professional customer service and communication. The posted schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required for this driving position, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following campus protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
Monitor access points and assist with access-control procedures for campus facilities.
Document observations, incidents, and actions taken in clear, accurate reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus stakeholders.
