About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer with a valid TSA-issued TWIC credential for a logistics and distribution location in Newport News, Virginia. The officer will safeguard the site by managing access, verifying credentials, maintaining logs, monitoring restricted areas, and conducting patrols. The role requires professional customer service and calm responses to incidents and access concerns. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay is $16.75 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, contractors, and employees while following site-specific access control procedures and security policies.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and contractor logs.
Control access to restricted areas, loading docks, yards, and warehouse facilities according to established procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating to appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading areas; deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
