About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for the Port of New Orleans. The role requires a valid TWIC card and involves standing and interacting directly with the general public. The schedule is 16 hours per week: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday, plus alternating Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Pay is $17.00 per hour, paid weekly. The first interview will be conducted by phone.

The officer will safeguard clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, following site-specific policies, responding to emergencies and incidents, and conducting regular and random patrols of the business and its perimeter. The position may involve varying work environments and conditions.

Requirements

• Possess a valid TWIC card.
• Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Be able to lift 20 pounds or more.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Be able to work in the elements for long periods.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out safety and security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
