About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to support a government port location in Jacksonville, Florida. This driving position involves providing customer service, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas and access points, and communicating and documenting security concerns. The role is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and pays $17.06 per hour.

Requirements

A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and maritime personnel by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of port facilities, terminals, parking areas, access points, waterside perimeters, and surrounding property to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, vendors, drivers, and visitors according to established site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, document observations, and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
Report suspicious activity, hazards, damaged property, and other security-related concerns through established communication and reporting procedures.
