About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Guard for a government port location in Jacksonville, Florida. The role involves driving patrols and helping safeguard port facilities and the people who use them. The officer provides customer service, maintains a visible security presence, monitors assigned areas, responds to incidents, and follows site-specific procedures. A TSA-issued TWIC and a valid driver’s license are required. The position pays $17.06 per hour and is scheduled for daytime shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday.
Requirements
- Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
- Hold a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to port visitors, tenants, contractors, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and notification procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of port facilities, waterfront-adjacent areas, parking areas, gates, buildings, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor and report unusual or hazardous conditions, damaged property, and unauthorized persons or vehicles to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
- Help control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and maintaining activity logs as required.
