About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for a government waterfront location in Portsmouth, Virginia. The officer will serve and safeguard clients at a maritime transportation location by conducting patrols, monitoring assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and providing customer service and clear communication. The role offers a schedule with shifts on Wednesday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, vendors, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and security protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, waterfront perimeters, and other designated areas; report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and maintain visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation according to site policies.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and public-service agencies as directed.
Help deter unauthorized access and prohibited activity through a professional presence, observation, timely reporting, and adherence to applicable procedures.
