About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to provide access control and visitor reception services at a manufacturing and industrial location in Columbus, Mississippi. The role involves managing entry points, verifying credentials, supporting badge access, screening vehicles and deliveries, keeping entry and exit records, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. The position requires driving and a valid driver’s license. The scheduled shifts are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Pay is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required for this driving position and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access control procedures and security policies.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor and contractor badges, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
Screen incoming vehicles, deliveries, and personnel according to site procedures, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate locations.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access issues, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production-area perimeters, parking areas, and exterior grounds to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
