Security Officer Front Desk Visitor Reception
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a front desk and visitor reception role at a utilities location in Syracuse, New York. The position involves welcoming visitors, managing site access, monitoring security-related activity, and providing customer service and communication. It is a driving position and requires a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.39 per hour. The role includes carrying out site-specific security procedures, maintaining visitor records, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and helping maintain a professional, service-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; required for driving positions.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide front desk customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, visitor reception, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Welcome employees, contractors, and visitors; verify access authorization; issue visitor credentials; and maintain accurate visitor logs.
- Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and communications systems, and report unusual activity or equipment concerns according to established protocols.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
- Direct visitors, answer routine inquiries, and support a professional, service-oriented environment at a utilities location.
