About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a government location in Gaithersburg, Maryland, you will welcome visitors, support access control and badge procedures, monitor entry activity, and provide customer service. You will help maintain a professional, secure environment through clear communication, attention to detail, and use of computer or tablet systems. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and pays $22.09 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
At least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements vary by state or local law and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Staff the front desk, greet and screen visitors, verify identification and appointments, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor records.
Monitor facility access, direct visitors to appropriate offices, and report access concerns or unusual activity to designated personnel.
Answer incoming calls, provide general information, and help coordinate visitor arrivals, deliveries, and service personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations and follow established reporting and escalation procedures.
