Security Officer Part Time College Campus Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol a college campus in Brooklyn, New York. The officer will monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role includes professionally communicating about security concerns and supporting a welcoming campus environment. The posted schedule is Monday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.35 per hour. Applicants must have a New York State security guard license, at least one year of security-related experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. A background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment, subject to applicable law.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State security guard license.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Nice To Haves
- Comfort using a computer or tablet.

- CPR and First Aid certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical events, and critical situations, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and other security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with company and site-specific requirements.
