About The Position

As a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location in Brooklyn, NY, you will help safeguard the campus and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns. The role calls for teamwork, integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, potentially before employment.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, medical situations, and critical events, following campus procedures and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and observe visitor, student, and staff activity; report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with site requirements.
