About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The officer will help safeguard the campus by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, responding to security concerns, and providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role includes communicating observations to appropriate personnel and helping maintain a welcoming campus environment. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; the posting also lists current CPR certification as preferred.

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is listed as a candidate qualification.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations, and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
Complete required activity reports and maintain professional interactions with the campus community.
