Security Officer Full Time College Campus Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for patrol duties at a college campus in Brooklyn, New York. The officer will safeguard the educational location by conducting routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access points, and identifying and reporting security concerns. The role includes serving students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners; responding professionally to incidents and alarms; following site procedures and policies; and completing required reports and logs. The position pays $21.35 per hour and follows a schedule of Wednesday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, Thursday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Friday 12:00 AM–8:00 AM, Saturday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, and Sunday 12:00 AM–8:00 AM.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and report relevant details according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, facility issues, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Complete activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
