Security Officer - MGM National Harbor
About The Position
Security Officers help create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members at MGM National Harbor. The role involves patrolling the property, monitoring cameras and alarms, responding to emergencies, supporting guests, handling secure gaming transactions, and documenting daily activities and incidents. Officers communicate by phone and two-way radio, coordinate with emergency responders, and help secure areas and lead evacuations when needed. The schedule is a swing shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with an eight-hour shift and two days off; schedules may change based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license in good standing; it must not be expired, suspended, or revoked.
- At least one year of customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Patrol interior and exterior property areas on foot, bicycle, or in a company vehicle.
- Monitor property activity for irregularities through patrols, camera surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Respond professionally to guest and employee concerns while maintaining a calm, courteous presence.
- Act as a first responder during emergencies, administer first aid when required, and follow reporting protocols.
- Handle secure gaming transactions and drops accurately.
- Prepare detailed reports covering daily activity, incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences.
- Manage communications by phone and two-way radio and dispatch information as needed.
- Secure areas, coordinate with emergency responders, and lead evacuation procedures during urgent situations.
- Maintain required certifications in legal procedures, defensive tactics, CPR/AED, and first aid.
- Participate in regular training to maintain readiness and proficiency with assigned equipment.
