About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, Virginia. The role provides customer service while monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access control, and responding to alarms and incidents. The officer follows site-specific procedures and policies, communicates with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and helps maintain a secure, professional environment around sensitive technology infrastructure.

The schedule is Friday and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $23.18 per hour.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with alarm panels.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Experience with access control and badge systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials according to site procedures, and report access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, document observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while supporting a professional, customer-focused environment.
