About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for an entry-management role at a logistics and distribution location in New Haven, Indiana. The officer will safeguard clients by managing entry points, verifying credentials, monitoring access activity, and reporting security-related concerns. The role requires a professional, visible presence and clear communication with employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors while providing customer service. The position pays $17.22 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific access-control procedures and security policies.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and driver entry records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
Control vehicle and pedestrian access to support orderly movement at gates, docks, and other designated entry points.
Respond calmly to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business perimeter, to identify and report security concerns, unauthorized activity, and facility issues.
