About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer in Newark, California, serving a healthcare and biotechnology location. The officer will help safeguard the site by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and assisting employees, visitors, and staff professionally. The role involves communicating clearly, responding to routine concerns, and helping provide a welcoming environment while working as part of a team.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation, consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, following site protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, laboratories, offices, parking areas, and perimeter, identifying and reporting unusual conditions or security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and help maintain orderly entry and exit procedures.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
