Security Officer Part Time Entry Management

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Sterling, Virginia, for entry management at a construction-focused location. The officer will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors. The role includes maintaining a visible presence, communicating professionally, and reporting security concerns. The schedule is Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The pay rate is $27.14 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and contractors while following access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency-response activities.
Monitor and manage entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, and maintain visitor and contractor sign-in records according to site requirements.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating them to appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned construction areas, offices, gates, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report security-related concerns.
Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and observations through required reports and communication channels.
