About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for an assigned technology, media, and telecommunications site in Columbia City, Indiana. The position pays $21.16 per hour and requires a six-month commitment to a designated site and weekly anchor-shift schedule. The listed shifts are Thursday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, Friday 5:00 PM–12:00 AM, and Saturday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM. Employees may claim additional open shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to increase their schedule up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, responding to incidents and alarms, and documenting and communicating relevant activity.

Requirements

• Possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, business areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and site activity, reporting suspicious conditions, policy violations, and security concerns according to established procedures.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; contact appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
