About The Position
The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer safeguards clients across a range of industries and works at changing sites, shifts, and assignments. The Security Officer Flex Armed Mobile Patrol role in New York, NY offers 30–40 hours per week. The schedule varies week to week based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The role provides exposure to varied security environments and opportunities for career advancement. The pay rate is $33.85–$34.85 per hour. Applicants must possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit and a valid Law Enforcement Officer License, be at least 21 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening. Employees participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements depend on state and local laws and may need to be met before employment. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
Requirements
- Valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Valid Law Enforcement Officer License.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
- Drug screening, to the extent permitted by law.
- Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
- Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
- Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
- Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
- Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
