About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries. The role offers hands-on experience across diverse work environments and opportunities for career growth. The officer will be assigned to varying shifts, days, locations, and assignments, based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Work is 30–40 hours per week, with irregular shifts that may be assigned with little to no advance notice to support client needs. The position is based in New York, NY, and pays $17.78 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• New York State Security Guard License.
• Availability to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
• Availability for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Ability to travel required distances.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
