Security Officer - Commercial Building Patrol

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to support a commercial real estate location. The officer will provide a visible security presence, conduct patrols, respond to concerns, and deliver customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel. The role involves applying site-specific procedures and policies, monitoring access, documenting activity, and communicating with appropriate personnel. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random patrols of office buildings, common areas, parking facilities, access points, and the surrounding property perimeter to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access, verify visitor and contractor authorization according to site procedures, and maintain awareness of activity in assigned areas.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
Complete activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence.
