About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for building patrol in a healthcare setting in Utica, New York. The officer will safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and clients by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting a welcoming environment, and responding professionally to security concerns. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and pays $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, critical situations, and medical or behavioral health-related concerns, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with access-control procedures, and direct individuals to appropriate locations as needed.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
