About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a healthcare setting in Durham, North Carolina. The officer will safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and supporting access control. The role includes providing customer service and clear communication to patients, visitors, employees, and staff, and using technology to document observations. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $20.84 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen are conditions of employment. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

Guard card or license.
Experience with access control and badge systems.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, laboratories, offices, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, and assist with visitor management while maintaining professional interactions.
Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, unusual activity, and security-related concerns in accordance with company and site requirements.
