About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a visitor services desk at an education location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The officer serves as a welcoming, visible presence for students, staff, and visitors while safeguarding the site. The role involves managing access, greeting guests, monitoring entry activity, responding to security concerns, and communicating with site personnel. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.60 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at the front desk.
Greet and screen visitors, verify identification or access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate entry records according to location procedures.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communications systems from a stationary front desk post, and report unusual activity and security concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, assistance requests, and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
Provide directions, answer routine inquiries, and communicate professionally to support a welcoming educational environment.
