About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across industries including healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The Security Officer Flex Armed Patrol role is based in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and offers exposure to a variety of sites and opportunities for career advancement. The position pays $20.33 per hour and typically involves 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, or Armed Security Professional, or graduation from a certified law enforcement program.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants must undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants must undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A State-, County-, or City-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removals meet client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
