About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Armed Patrol in Stamford, Connecticut. The role serves and safeguards clients across a variety of industries and sites. Officers work 30–40 hours per week on a schedule that varies week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and officers may receive irregular assignments with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position provides exposure to diverse work environments, hands-on experience, paid training, and opportunities for career advancement.

The hourly pay rate is $20.98. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements. Applicants must participate in industry-specific security training, and applicable licensing requirements may need to be met before employment.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel varying distances.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
