About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer safeguards clients across a range of industries and works at changing sites, locations, and assignments. The role involves armed mobile patrols and provides exposure to varied work environments and opportunities for career growth. Work is 30–40 hours per week, with schedules varying from week to week through manager-assigned shifts and a self-scheduling program. Shifts may be irregular and assigned with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position is based in Gahanna, Ohio, and pays $25.76 per hour.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel required distances.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license for driving positions.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal meets client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
