About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, Virginia, serving a technology, media, and telecommunications location. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned spaces, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service and clear communication to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. The role follows site-specific policies and security procedures, responds to incidents as appropriate, and documents activities. The listed schedule is Wednesday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $23.11 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized entry attempts, suspicious activity, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notify appropriate personnel, and document activities as required.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence.
