About The Position

As a Security Officer in Lenexa, Kansas, you will serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. You will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, and help maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. The role uses computer or tablet systems to document activity, communicate professionally, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter incidents. The position is full-time and pays $18.75 per hour. The listed schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and direct deliveries and traffic according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, trailer yards, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Document daily activities, incidents, and access-control observations in accordance with company and site reporting procedures.
