About The Position

As a Security Officer at a financial institution in Totowa, New Jersey, you will help maintain a welcoming, professional environment by verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and monitoring entry points. You will support security-related operations through clear communication, attentive service, and accurate documentation while helping deter unauthorized access. The role serves and safeguards clients in financial institutions and other industries. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with access control and badge systems.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience.
• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry procedures, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site policies.
• Respond calmly to incidents, unauthorized access attempts, and critical situations, escalating concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Report access-control equipment issues, unusual activity, and policy concerns to appropriate Allied Universal and site leadership personnel.
