About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for entry screening at a logistics and distribution location in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The role helps manage entry points, screen visitors and deliveries, monitor access activity, and create a welcoming environment for employees and guests while helping deter security-related incidents. The position involves customer service, access control, patrols, incident response, and documentation. The schedule is Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from midnight to 8:00 a.m., and Sunday from midnight to 8:00 a.m. The pay rate is $17.16 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements that may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

X-ray screening experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, vendors, and employees by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, maintain visitor and driver logs, and direct authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
Respond calmly to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations; report unusual activity promptly and follow escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized entry and identify security concerns.
Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and access-related observations in accordance with site-specific policies and Allied Universal procedures.
