About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Entry Screening to serve a government location in Dover, Delaware. The officer will help maintain a secure and welcoming environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors and belongings, verifying credentials, and communicating with staff and the public. The role requires a visible presence to deter security-related incidents while providing customer service. The stated pay rate is $17.34 per hour. The listed schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; report prohibited items, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Verify access credentials and direct visitors to appropriate locations in accordance with site access requirements.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter.
