About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for patrol and observation at an assigned logistics and distribution site in Maspeth, New York. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment, and officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts can increase weekly hours up to 40, with the option to scale back. The position pays $17.10–$18.10 per hour and is scheduled Tuesday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and assisting with emergency response when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse, loading dock, parking, trailer, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, visitors, and delivery personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and communicate concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Support orderly vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the logistics and distribution location.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
