Security Guard Part Time Patrol - Global Shipping Company
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol security guard for an assigned logistics and distribution location in the Bronx, New York. The position offers a fixed weekly shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The schedule listed is Saturday, 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The role can provide a path to a schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. Pay is $17.85–$18.35 per hour. The guard provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site policies, responds to incidents and access concerns, patrols facility areas, monitors access, and documents and communicates observations. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Guard Card or license preferred.
- Access control and badge experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills when addressing incidents, access concerns, package or shipment irregularities, and critical situations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, warehouse spaces, employee entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers according to site-specific procedures.
- Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
