About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a healthcare research and office location in Durham, North Carolina. The officer will help safeguard clients, patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling assigned areas, supporting access control, responding to incidents, and providing professional customer service. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.84 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply depending on state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, and identify and report unusual conditions.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, follow site protocols, and notify appropriate personnel.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report access-related concerns.
Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
