Security Officer Full Time Residential Building Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to patrol a commercial real estate residential building in Staten Island, New York. The officer will provide security and customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff; conduct routine patrols; help deter security-related incidents through a visible presence; respond to concerns; and communicate professionally. The role involves unarmed patrols and following site-specific policies and procedures. The schedule is daytime, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $17.45 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, tenant concerns, access-related issues, and critical situations.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, common areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and observe site activity.
- Report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
- Complete daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.
- Maintain a professional presence at the property.
