Security Officer - Residential Building
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring Security Officers to oversee a residential building in the Chelsea area of Manhattan. The position is full time, with morning, evening, and overnight shifts available. Candidates should be flexible Monday through Sunday and demonstrate strong customer service skills, as the role involves daily interaction with the general public, the client, and staff. The hourly pay rate is $20–$21. Security Officers serve and safeguard clients across industries including commercial real estate, healthcare, education, and government. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have five years of verifiable experience.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
- Be flexible to work Monday through Sunday.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and interact with the public, client, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
