About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Lexington, Kentucky, to support a secure and welcoming environment in an educational setting. The officer will screen individuals and authorized items, monitor access points, assist students, staff, visitors, and contractors, and help deter security incidents through a visible presence and clear communication. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
X-ray screening experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Screen individuals, bags, packages, and other authorized items entering designated areas according to established procedures.
Verify access credentials and direct visitors to appropriate campus locations using professional and courteous communication.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the surrounding perimeter, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
