About The Position

As a Security Officer and Screener with Allied Universal in Columbus, Ohio, you will help maintain a welcoming and secure environment at a higher education location. You will screen individuals and belongings, monitor access points, and report security-related concerns. A visible presence and professional communication help deter incidents while providing customer service. The position is full-time and pays $19.75 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing requirements may apply and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
Screen individuals, visitors, and belongings according to site procedures and access requirements.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
