Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Area Checks
About The Position
As a Security Officer supporting a public transportation location in San Jose, California, you will help safeguard clients and the public through unarmed patrols, a visible security presence, and customer service. You will serve passengers, employees, visitors, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and security protocols. The role involves observing and reporting activity, responding professionally to incidents and service disruptions, and communicating with supervisors, client representatives, and emergency responders as needed. The position is full-time and pays $22.83 per hour. The schedule is Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. On-site facilities are limited and include portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, visitors, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and security protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor access points and observe activity; report security concerns, maintenance issues, and suspicious behavior according to established procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Complete accurate activity reports and communicate observations to supervisors and client representatives in accordance with company and site requirements.
