About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Pontiac, Michigan. The officer will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The role calls for a visible presence, clear communication, and a customer-focused approach to help deter security-related incidents. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $18.68 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain access logs, and report access-control discrepancies according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; escalate concerns to appropriate personnel and document observations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, lobbies, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
Maintain a professional, welcoming environment while protecting confidentiality and following established procedures for restricted areas, assets, and information.
