Security Officer Part Time Biometric Entry Management
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Somerset, New Jersey, at a technology-focused corporate location. The officer will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The role requires strong customer service, clear communication, and a visible security presence. Officers can use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The position pays $17.00 per hour and is scheduled for daytime shifts on Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles or 21 for armed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law. State or local licensing may be required before employment; a valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry points and access-control systems, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain visitor and contractor records according to site requirements.
- Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, lobbies, parking areas, and the business perimeter to identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and facility concerns.
- Communicate clearly with employees and visitors and escalate security-related concerns according to site procedures.
