About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to support access control at a logistics and distribution location. The officer will help manage facility entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain an orderly environment. A visible presence, professional communication, and customer-focused service will help deter incidents and support site operations. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and pays $18.54 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment, where required.
Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor and control facility access by verifying credentials, screening visitors and contractors, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or security concerns.
Help maintain orderly vehicle, employee, visitor, and delivery traffic flow at access points in accordance with site procedures.
