Part Time Security Officer - MGM National Harbor
About The Position
Security Officers at MGM National Harbor help create a safe, welcoming environment for guests and team members. The role includes patrolling the property, monitoring cameras and alarms, responding to emergencies, supporting guests and employees, and maintaining security and incident records. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs. Available schedules include day shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., swing shifts from 2:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and grave shifts from 9:00 p.m. to 7:45 a.m. The listed schedules have four days off; day and swing shifts are eight hours, and grave shifts are ten hours.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license in good standing; it must not be expired, suspended, or revoked.
- At least one year of customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Patrol interior and exterior property areas on foot, by bicycle, or in a company vehicle.
- Monitor for irregularities through active patrols, camera surveillance, and alarm system oversight.
- Respond professionally to guest and employee concerns with a calm and courteous presence.
- Serve as a first responder during emergencies, administer first aid when required, and follow reporting protocols.
- Handle secure gaming transactions and drops accurately.
- Prepare detailed reports on daily activity, incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences.
- Manage communications by phone and two-way radio, dispatching information as needed.
- Help secure areas during urgent situations, coordinate with emergency responders, and lead evacuation procedures.
- Maintain required certifications in legal procedures, defensive tactics, CPR/AED, and first aid.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain readiness and proficiency with assigned equipment.
